Cheese Basket Workshop
September 26, 2020 @ 10:30 am - 3:30 pm
Learn to make a multi-directional weave basket in the Shaker style with instructor Sandy Salada. Originally used for curing cheese. Today’s basket makes a wonderful bread, muffin or roll basket, and looks great hanging on a wall when not in use.
Made from 3/8” natural flat reed. The finished basket measures approximately 10” round x 3” deep. No prior weaving experience is needed, suitable for ages 13 and up.
$35 per person for SHS Members; $40 for Non-Members. The fee includes materials.
The workshop has been planned to allow for social distancing in the spacious Meeting Room, with 8 participants each at a separate table around the room. Materials were purchased before the pandemic and have been stored in a Covid-free space.
Please note, students will bring their own household tools. Masks will be required. SHS is following all protocols to maintain a safe environment for visitors.
Register at the Shaker Heritage Museum Shop or online at Eventbrite.
