On October 15th, a group of fifty students from Christian Brothers Academy will hold their Senior Service Day at the Shaker Heritage Society in Albany. The student volunteers will receive an introduction to the history of the site before beginning their projects, which include set up for the Society’s large Christmas Craft Fair fundraiser, cleaning the garage and attic, and organizing the education collection and program supplies. County Waste graciously donated the use of a dumpster for the day. The Shaker Heritage Society, which has a small staff of four, often relies on volunteer assistance to complete tasks that help keep the museum functioning. We are pleased to be working with CBA once again, and are grateful to be part of a community in which organizations support one another.
