All God’s Creatures: The Shakers and Their Animals

In many respects, the Shakers were ahead of their time, especially when it came to ideas about social welfare and the treatment of animals. They believed all living things should be treated kindly, from pigs to people.
Learn about the Shakers and their changing relationship with animals as they became influenced by the modern world through the early 20th century. Dinner will be available at the café beginning at 4:30pm.
