SUMMARY:Paranormal Investigation at Shaker Heritage Society
DESCRIPTION:While it may seem like an unusual pairing\, spiritualism was at the heart of the Shaker religion and experience. In fact\, the Era of Manifestations\, a pivotal moment in the Shakers’ history\, began in the late 1830s here in Watervliet when a group of teenage girls at the South Family began having visions and communicating with spirits. This phenomena spread to other Shaker communities and resulted in the production of well-known spirit drawings and thousands of songs and poems. The Shakers often relayed messages from the dead as “gifts” at worship or at events such as funerals. \nJoin the Empire State Paranormal Society for an exclusive paranormal investigation at the historic Shaker Site in Colonie.  Paranormal investigators from Empire State Paranormal Society and staff from Shaker Heritage Society will guide participants through several historic Shaker buildings. \nLearn the history of the souls who lived and died on the property\, and search for evidence of ghostly inhabitants! \nTickets available at Eventbrite \n
